Whiplash/soft tissue injuries to the neck and back
These injuries, caused by the sudden forward/backward head on neck movement at the time of the car accident are largely muscle/ligament damage, (soft tissue origin). They do not usually require a prolonged course of treatment, 4 – 8 sessions is usual.
Sometimes the shoulder joint can be involved which may require specific exercises to help normal movement to return. The low back may also be involved
Typical symptoms include stiffness of movement, pain, pins and needles, and headaches. It can take several months to subside.
